The Constitution of The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, ratified in 1952, has no provisions regarding the environment and natural resources.1

The Environment Law of 1995 aims to protect the environment, improve its different elements and to implement this policy in collaboration with the specialized parties. It also establishes the Environmental Protection Funds.

Ministry of Environment was established under the Environment Protection Law (only in Arabic), 2006.
