The Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar points out the duties of both government and citizens with regards to the environment and nature.

“Article 45. The Union shall protect and conserve natural environment.”

“Article 390. Every citizen has the duty to assist the Union in carrying out the following matters : (a) preservation and safeguarding of cultural heritage; (b) environmental conservation;”
